Q: How can I upload a digital video file?
- This is one way how video files can be transferred from a camcorder to a computer.
- Most people have a MiniDV camcorder which should be connected to the computer via a firewire cable.
- Then use Window Movie Maker to capture the file and edit the sequences you like.
- Then save it as a movie file onto your desktop. During this step the video file can be compressed down to the size that is needed for upload (50MB for this site).
- Finally simply upload the file using the video upload function.
Q: How come I cannot upload my video?
- The video size should not exceed 50MB. We are working on allowing larger video files to be uploaded.
- Make sure that the file extension should be in proper format.
- Make sure that the video name does not contain spaces and special characters.
- Normally the video takes 12-24 hrs to reflect in your profile page. It takes a bit longer on the weekend.
Q: How come I cannot view the video?
- Please Make sure that your browser is installed with the Flash plug-in.
- Your browser version is older than Netscape 4.7 , Mozilla 1.2+/Firefox and IE5+ on Windows
If then, Please Upgrade your browser to the latest version.
Q: How can I upload a music file?
- If the file is already in an MP3 format, simply go to MyProfile. Once you are in MyProfile click on the music link which lead you to the music gallery. Here you can upload music files. Please try to be specific and include song title, artist, composer, length, time and a brief description.
- If the music file is in a different format, e.g. WMA file, you shoud try the free WMA to MP3 converter (www.jodix.com)
Q: How can I contact an artist?
- You can send a personal message to the dancer which will me mailed directly to the artist's email address provided during registration
- You can leave a comment in the artist's comment section which can be viewed by others.
Q: Will my email address be shared with others?
- Your email address will not be shared to others.
- You can be contacted by others via the “Send Message” function which is available in each profile.
At that point, you can choose to give out your personal contact info to the person contacting you!
Q: How can I remove my profile from danceprofile.com?
